YouTube Marketing - The Content Engine/API/Going Viral

This course on YouTube marketing seemed like it would be pretty helpful for anyone looking to spread a message through the largest video site in the world. Overall, it has its uses, but it isn't the highest-quality course on Udemy.

The course consists of three roughly-half-hour videos that presumably were filmed at a presentation of this content at a specific time and place. This means that it doesn't really take advantage of all (or even many) of the features Udemy offers to instructors, and so students are left with watching the three videos and nothing more.

In addition, the videos aren't the highest quality, either visually or audibly. Much of the video is simply a camera trained at the images of a PowerPoint presentation projected onto a screen.

Content-wise, the course covers many things that someone with a little YouTube marketing experience would consider basic knowledge, but because the course is geared towards beginners, this is okay. It does have some very solid tips and good information, and is especially good at simply showing you how to navigate through and use important tools like YouTube's Analytics features.

As a whole, it feels too much like a college lecture for a class you need for your major, but perhaps aren't too thrilled about. If you're not paying attention, you might start to daydream, for example. If you've got an hour and a half to spare, however, it does contain some helpful information, and presents it in a better way than a simple online tutorial would.

UdemyReviews gives YouTube Marketing three out of five stars.
